CM Hemant Soren is Expected to Return Today
Chief Minister Hemant Soren is expected to return back to Ranchi by today. He is being in New Delhi for several days to accompany his father, Shibu Soren, for medical treatment. Shibu Soren is undergoing regular check-ups. Hemant was scheduled to return on Friday but delayed his departure due to some essential medical tests. His wife, MLA Kalpana Soren, also joined him in Delhi.
Jharkhand will Sign MoUs of Rs. 30,000 Crore in Mar-2025
Jharkhand will sign MoUs with 15 companies in March for an investment Rs. 30,000 crore. These ventures will create 17,900 jobs, including 8,400 direct and 9,500 indirect opportunities. The companies, spanning industries from steel to power and even handbags, have received clearance from the state’s single-window committee, with a major signing ceremony planned soon.
Two New 800 MW Power Plants Approved for Chandrapura
The Energy Ministry has approved the establishment of two 800 MW ultra-super critical power plants in Chandrapura. The plants will be a joint venture between DVC and Coal India Ltd., with an estimated project cost of Rs. 16,425 crore. The proposal has received preliminary approval from the Minister of Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, bringing joy to local officials and staff.
491 MW Thermal Power Plant to Be Set Up in Barwadih
A 491 MW thermal power plant will be established in Barwadih, Latehar under the proposed project by MS Steel and Power Ltd. The village meeting, chaired by Mukhiya Sushila Devi, discussed the benefits, including compensation, job opportunities, healthcare, and education for locals. Residents supported the project, anticipating growth and employment in the region.
HCL Director Visited Surda Mines
Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Director of Hindustan Copper Limited, visited Surda Mines and met with HCL and contractor company officials. He instructed the team to start production soon, addressing challenges and ensuring cooperation. Tisri’s Abandoned Mine at Giridih to Be Auctioned After 40 Years
Tisri block’s abandoned Mica mine will be auctioned, providing hope for local employment. Over 70% of the area’s residents currently rely on illegal mining, while many have migrated due to the closure of mica industries. Following Government instructions, the Geological Department has initiated preparations for the auction, expected to conclude in two months.
CCL Sets 100 Million Ton Production Target for FY 2024-25
CCL’s CMD, Nilesh Kumar Singh, visited the Dhori Area and reviewed coal production and dispatch operations. He confirmed a target of 100 million tons for the current financial year. Nine (9) Officers to be Promoted to IPS from Jharkhand
The Jharkhand Government has recommended nine state police officers for promotion to the Indian Police Service (IPS). Following the Chief Minister’s approval, a list of 17 officers, including names like Shivendra, Radha Prem Kishore, Mukesh Kumar Mahato, and others, has been sent for consideration.
JSMDCL MD Summoned for Contempt of Court

New Chief Election Commissioner will be finalized on 17th Feb

Coal Transportation Resumed After Four Days in Piprawar

Illegal Coal Mines Bulldozed by JCB

Tata Steel Foundation Launched 2nd Free Cataract Camp
Tata Steel Foundation, in collaboration with Shankar Netralaya, inaugurated a free cataract camp at the Malkeera Community Center. The camp is being conducted in two phases: screening (10th to 13th Feb) and surgery (14th to 18th Feb). Over 770 people were screened, and 250 require surgery. Surgeries will be performed by Dr. Surjeev Sarkar and Dr. Ahana Sen.
