Hindalco and IDTR Jamshedpur Signed Skill Development Pact for Youth

Ranchi: Hindalco Industries Ltd, Muri and the Indo-Danish Tool Room (IDTR), Jamshedpur signed an agreement today to provide technical training to youths and improve their employment prospects. Under the programme, Hindalco employees, their children and young people from the surrounding area will be offered diploma- and ITI level training.

Training to Combine Technical and Practical Skills

The agreement was signed by Hindalco plant head Sandeep Patil and HR head Pramod Kulhad. From IDTR Jamshedpur, general manager Ravindra Kumar, marketing manager Anjan Kundu and training manager Dr. Rambabu Verma signed the agreement jointly. IDTR general manager Ravindra Kumar said the programme was designed to make young people technically skilled and prepare them for the requirements of industries.

Focus on Industry Ready Training

Participants will get an opportunity to learn technical subjects along with practical skills during the training. The programme is expected to help them develop skills that can be used in industrial workplaces and improve their prospects for employment and further career growth. The focus on both ITI and diploma level courses also gives participants an opportunity to pursue technical education at different levels.

Programme to Be Run Through CSR Funding

Hindalco, a major Aditya Birla Group company, operates in the Alumina and speciality products segment. The training programme will be supported through the company’s CSR fund. The partnership brings an industrial company and a technical training institute together to provide job-oriented training to young people in the region.

Wider Employment Opportunities for Local Youth

The initiative is expected to increase access to technical training for local youth while strengthening the link between industry requirements and vocational education. For employees’ children and young people from nearby communities, the programme could provide a more direct route to acquiring technical qualifications and workplace skills.
