CM Hemant Soren Returned to Ranchi
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren returned to Ranchi on yesterday night. Last Sunday, he had traveled to Delhi with his father, Shibu Soren, for health check-up. Shibu Soren’s treatment will continue in Delhi for a few more days.
First Commercial Coal Inaugurated in Palamu
Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore and MP Vishnu Dayal Ram inaugurated the Rajhara North Coal Mine in Palamu, operated by Fairmine Carbons Pvt Ltd. Minister Kishore highlighted its potential to enhance the local economy, while MP Ram emphasized the positive impact on Palamu’s development. Samir Lohia, the MD of Fairmines Carbons emphasized its potential to become a model coal mine, benefiting the local community and economy. Rajiv Singh, GM of the company said that the mine is expected to boost state revenue and create 600 local jobs.
Bangladesh Demanded Full Power Supply from Adani’s Godda Plant
Bangladesh has requested full electricity supply from the Adani Power Plant in Godda, Jharkhand as Bangladesh receiving only 800 MW instead of 1600 MW due to payment delays. Despite a 25-year agreement signed in 2017, unpaid dues have affected the supply. Efforts to restart the second unit are underway, and full power is expected to resume soon.
Jharkhand Exploring Gold Mines in Khunti
The newly formed Jharkhand Exploration and Mining Corporation Limited (JEMCL) is exploring potential Gold mines in Ulihurang, Khunti. Exploration work will conclude in 2-3 months, followed by a report to the Government. Additionally, Gold and rare metals are being investigated in other districts like Ranchi and Saraikela, with 15 ongoing projects across the state.
Proposal for Special Economic Zone in Giridih
Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary proposed establishing a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Giridih during a meeting with Union Minister Piyush Goyal. The proposal aims to boost Jharkhand’s economy by leveraging the region’s natural resources and industrial potential, such as iron, silk, mica, and glass, creating ample job opportunities and enhancing infrastructure.
Jharkhand to Create New Labour Law Rules
Jharkhand is drafting new regulations for four major labour laws covering occupational safety, industrial relations, worker’s wages, and social security. The state aims to merge 15 existing laws into four comprehensive rules to improve worker’s rights. After legal review, the rules will be presented to the cabinet for approval.
Coal Secretary Reviewed Mine Closure Activities in Piparwar
Coal Ministry’s Under Secretary Hitler Singh visited Piprawar, where he inspected the Ashok Project mine and reviewed the closure activities of the Piprawar and IPARWAR and Rai-Bachra mines. He also evaluated ongoing efforts and future projects like the Ashok West and Mangardaha underground mines. Singh participated in a tree planting event at Amrit Van and visited the solar plant before departing for Ranchi.
Villagers Refuse to Give Land for SM Steels and Power Ltd.
In Barwadih village, Latehar under Amravadiha Panchayat, dozens of villagers, including women and men, gathered to decide not to give land to SM Steels and Power Ltd. Despite a company-led meeting urging locals to offer land, the villagers, who have lived there for generations, protested, citing errors in the land survey and concerns over future hardships.

Driver Died After Falling in Bauxite Mine Area
A tragic accident occurred in the Bauxite mine area near Pakhar Dumarpath Bagan in Lohardaga district. Peter Horo, a 28-year-old driver, slipped while unloading bauxite, falling head-first onto a rock. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead. He leaves behind his wife and three young children. His family mentioned he had been experiencing chest pain two days prior.
