Gold Reserves Discovered in Tamar and Bhithardarhi, Jharkhand
The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has confirmed the discovery of gold reserves in Tamar and Bhithardarhi in East Singhbhum district. This find could increase Jharkhand’s Gold Mining share, currently just 1% of India’s production. Additionally, GSI is exploring lithium in Koderma-Giridih and graphite in Chatra-Palamu, while copper mines may also hold gold deposits.
Coal India Struggles to Recover January’s Production Loss
Coal India is facing difficulty in recovering the 9 million tons production loss from January, as February’s shorter month makes it challenging. With a daily production average of 3 million tons, the company aims to meet its 838 million tons target but is hindered by setbacks from subsidiaries like SECL and BCCL, which saw production declines.
CS Directs DCs to Resolve Scheme Delays and Meet Deadlines
Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has instructed Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to create calendars for timely completion of schemes and resolve land acquisition and other delays. BCCL Transferred Three GMs Amid Performance Review

Trivedi replaced him at Lodna. Sujeel Kumar was given additional charge of Eastern Jharkhand Area. Additionally, manager and deputy manager level transfers also occurred as BCCL faces production shortfalls.
Illegal Mining at Panem Coal Mines: MP Demands CBI Probe
Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash accused Painum Coal Mines in Pakur of illegal mining, leading to a revenue loss of approximately 600 crores for the state. Coal Trader Ashiq Ali Kidnapped in Piparwar, TPC Suspected
Ashiq Ali, a coal trader from Piparwar, Ramgarh was kidnapped by unidentified criminals on Thursday evening. The local police, along with teams from neighboring areas, conducted raids overnight in search of him, but no success was reported. Ali had been receiving threats from the TPC insurgent group and had previously survived a fatal attack in November.
