Dhanbad: Coal India Ltd and trade unions have agreed on a Performance Linked Reward (PLR) of Rs. 1,10,250 for eligible non-executive employees for 2026. The agreement was reached after a lengthy Apex JCC meeting at Coal India headquarters. The payment is being planned by 15th October 2026, ahead of the Durga Puja festival. The latest reported workforce figure puts the number of eligible non executive employees at about 1.96 lakh.
Nine Hours Meeting Ends With Agreement
The meeting was chaired by Coal India chairman B Sai Ram and involved representatives of the four major central trade unions including BMS, HMS, CITU and AITUC. The unions had sought a higher amount, while the management had put forward a lower figure before the final calculation and discussions. The two sides eventually agreed on Rs. 1,10,250. The meeting also covered coal production and dispatch, the impact of the monsoon on operations and the delay in the formation of the next JBCCI.
