- A Sewing Training Center has been inaugurated at Guradri Bauxite Mines under Hindalco’s CSR initiative.
- 40 women and young girls have registered for the training, learning basic sewing skills and making children’s clothes and sweet petticoats.
- The aim is to empower women economically through skill development, helping them become self-reliant.
A Sewing Training Center was inaugurated on 19th February at Guradri Bauxite Mines, Lohardaga for the skill development of women. The Center opened under Hindalco’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Abhijeet Kumar, the Corporate CSR Head. Shweta Upadhyay, Cluster CSR Head, and Neeraj Kumar, CSR Head of the Mines Division, were also present at the event.
Forty women and young girls have already registered at the center. These trainees will be taught basic sewing techniques and skills for making children’s dresses, petticoats, and other items. The CSR Head also mentioned that through this training, women would become capable of self-employment and would gain financial independence. The aim of Hindalco’s initiative is to provide rural women with job-oriented skills, which will lead them toward economic empowerment.
The officials also encouraged the women to make full use of the training program and enhance their skills. Furthermore, under the leadership of the CSR Head, various existing schemes and programs operating in the mining areas such as Kujam, Chirodih, and Amatipani were reviewed. In addition, a tree plantation was carried out in the school premises with students, promoting the message of environmental protection.
