Bokaro: Rural women in Bokaro will get an opportunity to learn professional beauty and personal care skills through a new free training center launched by Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR wing of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. The center has been opened at the Gorawali North Panchayat Bhawan with the aim of helping local women and members of self help groups (SHGs) develop skills that can support their own livelihoods.
Three Month Course to Build Practical Skills
The first batch has 30 women and young women who will undergo a three month vocational training programme. The course will cover practical aspects of beauty and personal care services, preparing participants to either open their own beauty parlours or offer beauty services from home. The training centre is part of DBF’s efforts to provide livelihood oriented skills to women in the local community. Instead of limiting the programme to classroom learning, the focus is on practical skills that can be used for self-employment. For women who may not have access to formal employment opportunities, home-based services or a small beauty parlour can provide a relatively accessible route to earning an income.
Centre Inaugurated by DCBL Unit Head and Mukhiya
The center was inaugurated in the presence of DCBL Bokaro Unit Head Sunil Kumar K. Bhusari and Gorawali North panchayat mukhiya Baleshwar Singh Rathore. Addressing the gathering, Bhusari said economic empowerment of women contributes to the progress of families and communities. The programme is expected to give participating women a skill that can be directly converted into a livelihood after completion of the three months course.
