Tata Steel Reported 7% Rise in Q2 Output After Jamshedpur Furnace Revamp

Tata Steel Ltd on Thursday reported a 7% rise in crude steel production in India for the second quarter of FY26, reaching 5.67 million tonnes, driven by the resumption of normal operations following the completion of blast furnace relining at its Jamshedpur plant in Jharkhand. The company also saw an 8% quarter-on-quarter increase in production, according to its regulatory filing.

Sales Improved on Stable Domestic Demand

Domestic steel deliveries rose to 5.56 million tonnes during the quarter, up from 5.11 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year. The company said sales improved across market segments despite seasonal rains, supported by higher output and steady demand from the construction and manufacturing sectors. Tata Steel continues to expand its product portfolio through capacity additions and technology driven upgrades across its Indian operations.
