Patratu: Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (PVUNL) and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide assistive devices to needy persons with disabilities in Patratu and adjoining areas. The initiative will begin with an assessment camp to identify beneficiaries and assess their specific requirements before suitable equipment is provided.

Under the agreement, PVUNL will organise an assessment camp in Patratu and nearby areas. Persons with disabilities requiring assistance will be identified and registered at the camp, followed by medical examination and assessment. Eligible beneficiaries will then receive assistive devices based on their individual needs. The programme is intended to improve mobility, help beneficiaries become more independent in daily activities and support a more dignified life.
CSR Initiative Focused on Local Community
PVUNL CEO A.K. Sehgal, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shipra Rani and HR head Ziaur Rahman were present during the signing of the agreement. The company said the initiative forms part of its efforts to improve the quality of life of communities around its operational area through CSR activities. By linking assessment, medical evaluation and need based assistive equipment, the programme is also intended to support the participation of persons with disabilities in everyday community life.
