Tata Steel Announces Promotions and Overseas Deputations for Officers

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel has announced promotions and overseas deputations of its officers, covering operations in India as well as assignments in Thailand and the UK. Four officers have moved from IL-3 to IL-2, while executives from Gamharia and Jamshedpur have been assigned to Tata Steel Thailand, Tata Steel Colors Pvt Ltd (TSCPL) and Tata Steel UK. The changes point to a wider movement of experienced personnel across the company’s domestic and international operations.

Four Officers Move From IL-3 to IL-2

Based on their performance, four officers have been promoted to IL-2 with effect from 2nd October. They will continue in their existing roles after the promotion. The promoted officers are Shubhranshu Shekhar Panda, Chief Corporate Services (Meramandali), Ravi Marik, Chief Corporate Services (Kalinganagar), Soumya Kant Panda, Chief Central Mechanical Maintenance (Kalinganagar), and Sunder Kumar Priyadarshi, Chief Mechanical Field Maintenance. Priyadarshi will continue to work from Jamshedpur.

Mukund Kumar Jha, Head, SMS Operations at Tata Steel Gamharia, has been deputed to Tata Steel Thailand for three years from 15th October. He will work on technology, strategy and planning initiatives. Until his work permit is issued, Jha will continue working from Gamharia before moving to Thailand. Kapil Nandarajog, Head, Sales Planning (Tubes), has been deputed to Tata Steel Colors Pvt Ltd (TSCPL) for three years from 15th November. He will take charge as Head, Sales Planning (TSCPL) and will be based in Pune. At Tata Steel Meramandali, the structure of the Power Systems division and Meramandali Captive Power Plant has also been reorganised.

Two Jamshedpur Officers Assigned to UK

Tata Steel has also deputed two Jamshedpur based officers to Tata Steel UK for one year, effective 1st October. Abhinandan Singh, Senior Area Manager (Procurement Metals) in the Bulk Commodities division, and Pramod Kumar Sharma, Senior Manager (Fluxes in Raw Material) Procurement, will take up assignments at their existing levels. Both will continue handling their present responsibilities until their work permits are issued. After completion of the visa formalities, they will move to Port Talbot, UK, to take charge of their respective assignments.
