The group plans to invest around Rs. 4,000 crore in the hospital, which will be run on a not for profit basis. Of the 2,000 planned beds, 1,000 are to be reserved for economically weaker sections, with the facility also planned to include a medical college and research centre. The project is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs across the healthcare ecosystem, according to reports.
Investment to Cover Multiple Sectors
Adani said the wider investment plan would cover ports, logistics, power generation and distribution, roads, bridges and hyperscale data centres, among other areas. The announcement places the New Town healthcare project as an early component of a much larger investment plan for the state. The group has also described West Bengal as an important base for its activities in eastern India.
