Dr Bharti Kashyap Received Prestigious Award for Ophthalmology Work

Ranchi: Senior ophthalmologist Dr. Bharti Kashyap was honoured by the Eastern India Regional Ophthalmological Conference for her contribution to the academic, scientific and public awareness work in eye care in Jharkhand. The recognition came for her continued involvement in medical education, scientific activities and eye health awareness programmes in the state.

The Eastern India Regional Ophthalmological Conference is a regional platform representing ophthalmologists from 13 states of eastern India. Dr. Kashyap has been serving as chairperson of the Scientific Committee of the Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society since 2019, where she has been involved in promoting academic and scientific activities related to ophthalmology.

Focus on Young Eye Specialists

Under her leadership, medical education programmes, scientific sessions and clinical training activities have been organised in the state. Academic programmes for young ophthalmologists and postgraduate students have also been encouraged, with efforts to connect them with national-level scientific platforms and professional learning opportunities.

Eye Health Awareness Among Public

Along with professional education, Dr. Kashyap has been involved in activities aimed at taking scientific eye-health information to the public. Various awareness programmes have been conducted to improve understanding of eye health and the importance of timely care. The work has combined professional learning with public outreach.

Recognition for Jharkhand’s Eye Care Community

After receiving the award, Dr. Kashyap thanked the organising institution and said the recognition was a matter of pride for her as well as the wider ophthalmology community of Jharkhand. She said the honour would encourage her to continue working in scientific excellence, medical education and public eye-health awareness with greater commitment.
