The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sought faster progress on the Dhalbhumgarh airport project, saying the facility would improve air connectivity for Jamshedpur and the wider Kolhan region. A chamber delegation led by president Manav Kedia met Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato at his Bistupur office and raised the issue.

The delegation said the airport was important for industrial development and economic activity in the region. The chamber also welcomed the progress made on the Forest Department’s response to the 19 questions raised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) in connection with the project. Kedia said the chamber expected the project to move ahead with continued coordination between the MP and concerned officials.

The chamber also thanked MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the approval of the Vande Bharat coaching depot at Tatanagar. The facility will allow repair, maintenance and washing of Vande Bharat trains at the station itself and could make it easier to operate additional services from Tatanagar on other routes in the future. The delegation included vice presidents Anil Modi and Rajiv Srivastava and assistant secretary Bharat Makani.
