The BJP appointed Jharkhand Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Verma and former MLA Anant Ojha as co-in-charges for Uttar Pradesh as part of a wider organisational reshuffle ahead of the 2027 Assembly election. The two leaders will work with Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde, along with Jagdish Patel and Medha Kulkarni.

The appointments were part of the BJP’s reshuffle of state in-charges and co-in-charges across the country. In Uttar Pradesh, Vinod Tawde was retained as the main in-charge, while Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Pradeep Verma and Anant Ojha were named as co-in-charges. The appointments come ahead of the state Assembly election due in 2027.
Pradeep Verma Has Been Given Another Organisational Assignment
Verma, a Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand, was appointed to the BJP’s national team as a national secretary in August. He has earlier handled organisational responsibilities in Jharkhand and was given charge of the Santhal Pargana region during recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. He was also assigned responsibilities in Bihar during the 2025 Assembly election.
Anant Ojha, a former MLA from Rajmahal, has been associated with the BJP organisation through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He has served as an MLA from Rajmahal and has earlier been given organisational responsibilities during elections in Bihar and West Bengal, according to the report on the latest appointments.

The new assignment places two BJP leaders from Jharkhand in the organisational team for Uttar Pradesh, one of the party’s key election states. The four co-in-charges will assist Tawde in handling the party’s organisational work in the state as preparations begin for the 2027 Assembly polls.
